Group tour requests

Guided history tour at Fitzroy Docks on Cockatoo Island.

Are you looking to arrange a tour of Cockatoo Island, Sydney Harbour for either a large group or your friends and family? Probus groups, tour operators and other interested parties are invited to complete our group tour request form.

Five of our tours are available for private bookings between Monday and Friday by groups of 10+ people (T&Cs apply); namely, our Lower Island Tour (accessible), Convict Prison Tour, Island Highlights Tour, Shipyard Tales Tour (accessible) and Dark Past Tour (15+) (details below).

  • Bookings: We accept bookings for private group tours occurring between Monday and Friday, for 10 or more people, subject to guide availability. All bookings are subject to guide availability. Due to current high levels of demand, we are unable to book any private group tours less than 14 days in advance of the tour date. A minimum purchase of 10 tickets applies.

  • Weekend tours: We do not operate private group tours on the weekend. For more information about our weekend tours, click here.

  • Weather conditions: Tours will proceed regardless of weather conditions except in the event of extreme weather. Participants will be notified via email if the tour is cancelled, and under these circumstances, a full refund will be issued.

The Lower Island Tour is an engaging 60-minute journey through Cockatoo Island’s storied history and an accessible activity for less mobile visitors.

Cockatoo Island features 2 family-friendly cafés – Marina Cafe & Bar and Cockatoo Overboard – both of which are licensed to serve alcohol and operate 7 days a week. Reserve a table for your group or pre-order a meal to enjoy either before or after your tour. See: Eat and drink.

  • Concession tickets include pensioners, seniors, Defence Force Veterans, high school students and other tertiary students. A valid concession card must be presented when using a concession ticket.

  • Companion cards are accepted and are priced the same as a concession ticket. A valid companion card must be presented when using a concession ticket.

  • Child tickets are valid for children aged 6 to 12 years. Children aged 5 years and under are free with a paying adult.
