This February, escape to Cockatoo Island and go behind the scenes of SailGP, the world’s fastest and most exhilarating sail racing championship, with cutting-edge technology and awe-inspiring athleticism.

Following the success of SailGP’s inaugral season in 2019, Sydney will once again host the season opener: Sydney SailGP. Across two days – Friday 28 February and Saturday 29 February – elite athletes representing Australia, Denmark, France, Great Britain, Japan, Spain and the United States will compete in a series of dramatic, adrenaline-fuelled F50 catamaran races on Sydney Harbour. The Australia SailGP Team, led by Olympic Gold medallist Tom Slingsby, will be looking to capitalise on their season one victory with a strong start in Sydney.

In the lead up to Sydney SailGP, visitors can go behind the scenes at the official technical base on Cockatoo Island. From 17 to 27 February, an exclusive tour of the ‘pit lane garages’ will run three times a day. Guided by a professional sailing athlete, this 30-minute tour is an opportunity for fans to gain expert insights and see competitors and their technical crews up close as they prep the F50s for battle on the world’s best harbour.
