Introducing Mary’s On The Edge: a full-service bistro and takeaway joint that serves a range of mouthwatering bites, including Mary’s eponymous burger, for the duration of the 22nd Biennale of Sydney (16 June to 6 September).
Located in Cockatoo Island’s Naval Store, a historic building with an epic view of Sydney Harbour, the venue will also serve wine by P&V Wine Merchants, Campari and soda, mulled wine, and – courtesy of Newtown brewery Young Henrys – craft beer and cider.
According to the ‘brains behind the burgers’, Mary’s On The Edge is a celebration of the edge of life and death and a mandate for people to look up, breath, smile, love and eat like it’s their last meal.
“The theme of this year’s Biennale is ‘The Edge’ and we relish the challenge to sew this into the fabric of our new pop-up on Cockatoo Island. It will also be the first restaurant to provide what we’re creatively calling “Mary’s Groups Greatest Hits!Think Mary's burgers, Mary's pizza and Unicorn schnitty all under one roof” – Mary’s Co-Founders, Jake Smyth and Kenny Graham
