$12 per adult (60-minute and 90-minute format)
Visitor Centre, Cockatoo Island, Sydney Harbour NSW
Accompanied by our experienced guide, the members of your club have an opportunity to learn about and visit the UNESCO World Heritage listed Convict Precinct as well as the location of the island’s former shipyard, industrial school for girls and reformatory. Drawing on many fascinating stories and anecdotes, our guide will paint a vivid picture of the island’s convict, maritime, industrial and recent past.
Our 60-minute Seniors Club Tour is suitable for groups with less mobile members as it can be tailored to only cover the lower island. Meanwhile, our 90-minute Seniors Club Tour expands the experience to include a journey to the upper island.
Subject to guide availability, we accept private bookings for groups of at least ten people. Notes: Tours must be booked at least seven (7) days in advance, and if your group exceeds 28 people, an additional guide or guides will be organised. To arrange a Seniors Club Tour, complete our group tour enquiry form.
The tour contains stories (and may contain images and/or visuals) of deceased people.
The tour involves a steep incline and some uneven surfaces, and it is not suitable for wheelchairs and mobility scooters. A moderate level of fitness and mobility is required.
Suitable walking shoes, wet weather clothing (if needed) and a torch (phone flashlights are adequate).
Booked tours will proceed regardless of weather conditions except in the event of extreme weather.
Update (12/12/2019): Bushfire smoke continues to affect greater Sydney and, as a consequence, air quality has been deteriorating. For most people, smoke causes mild symptoms like sore eyes, nose and throat. The Harbour Trust wishes to advise that participating in this tour may not be suitable for people with existing lung and heart conditions like asthma, emphysema and angina. People with such conditions should follow their medical action plans and seek medical advice if they are concerned.
Ahead of your visit, we encourage you to read the terms and conditions for this tour.
