We have plenty of opportunities for you to explore the island. If you enjoy exploring at your own pace, but still want a deep insight into the island, take an audio tour. Before long you'll be transported back in time, imagining you are walking through an imperial prison, a reform school and a gaol. Surprising, inspiring and well worth the experience.
Otherwise try one of the four self guided journeys available which explore the convict history, maritime history, the island's highlights and the in-depth island journey. The journeys take between 1 and 2 ½ hours, details can be found in the Cockatoo Island Visitor Guide, pick up a copy from the Visitor Centre.
Groups may like to take advantage of our audio tours. Bookings for groups of 15 or more are essential by phoning (02) 8969 2100, Monday to Friday, 9:00am - 5:00pm.
