Check out Cockatoo Island's newest cafe located at Camber Wharf on the Southern Apron. The Pop-up Airstream Cafe is a family friendly environment serving a variety of sandwiches, snacks, coffee, tea and cold drinks including beer and wine.

To complement the Airstream Cafe you will also find Captain Sausage and Friends, serving original German gourmet sausages and condiments!

Opening hours:
Saturday: 11:00am – 6:00pm
Sunday and public holidays: 9:00am - 4:00pm
School holidays (Monday – Friday): 11:00am - 4:00pm

Please note, alcohol purchased in licensed areas, must be consumed in the licensed areas.

The Island Bar, Eastern Apron

Enjoy signature cocktails and drinks that are perfect over an Italian style lunch, dinner or evening snack, watching the sun go down over Sydney Harbour.

The Cafe, Lower Island, Parramatta Wharf

Grab a coffee and choose from the selection of sandwiches, salads and hot food from The Cafe at Parramatta Wharf.  The Cafe is licenced with a small selection of beer and wine.
 
Opening hours:
Sunday - Thursday: 8:30am - 4:30pm
Friday: 8:30am - 6:00pm
Saturday: 8:30am - 7:00pm
Sunday: 8:30am - 4:30pm

Picnic spots and BBQ areas

You are welcome to pack a picnic and soak up the vistas in one of our scenic picnic spots, both the lower and upper island have a range of shady spots.

Barbeques are available for the general public to use are located in Memorial Park, opposite The Island Office.

The Campground “Camper’s Kitchen” is closed for general public use on Saturday’s from 11.30am until 12 noon on Sundays, due to peak demand by overnight campers.  This applies during the months, October to May.

There is a drinks machine near The Island Office, and tap water on Cockatoo Island is Sydney water and is drinkable. 

Please note alcohol cannot be brought onto Cockatoo Island.

BBQ Packs

There is now a variety of BBQ packs available on Cockatoo Island for visitors to use on the free barbecues. Please note the packs must be ordered in advance from Fresh Catering on (02) 8399 3055.
