Sydney Ferries currently operates a service to Cockatoo Island. Ferries are available from Circular Quay and some also connect to Darling Harbour. Passengers can also travel to Cockatoo via some Parramatta River services. Check the Transport Infoline Website for the latest service details.
At Circular Quay ferries for Cockatoo Island usually depart from Wharf 5. Please check with Sydney Ferries staff at Circular Quay to confirm your departure wharf (Cockatoo Island is not marked on indicator boards).
The Harbour Trust is trialling a special boat service for campers. The service is available every day between Cockatoo Island and Woolwich Dock, with limited stops at Greenwich. On weekends the service also includes Birkenhead Point and Elliott Street. This boat service is free of charge. However, as the vessel is small and seats are limited you must book a space on the boat before you travel.
For bookings contact the Campground Office on (02) 8898 9774 or email: camp@cockatooisland.gov.au. Bookings are essential.
