Escape the every day with Cockatoo Island. Minutes by ferry from Circular Quay, Cockatoo Island's historic walks, breathtaking views, waterfront campgrounds and outdoor activities are available for all to enjoy.

Tennis

The Cockatoo Island grass court has the best views from a tennis court in Sydney. Overlooking Sydney and the Harbour Bridge, it's located on the upper island and available for hire for just $20 per hour ($10 per hour for campers) with an additional $5 for racket hire. Bookings are essential. Contact the Island Office on (02) 8898 9774.

Tennis with the best view

Slipway Baths

Cockatoo Island has an open ocean netted swimming area located in one of its historic slipways. Take a swim where some of Australia's largest ships first touched the water.

Kayaking

Are you a keen kayaker? It's time you put Cockatoo Island on your itinerary. Kayakers can land at Slipway Number 2 on the western end of the island, near the campground. On approach, Slipway Number 2 is the one on your left. Kayaks can be left at this slipway, but please remember that items are left at your own risk so take any valuables with you.

Fishing

Fishing is not allowed on Cockatoo Island but areas outside the red zone on the attached map of Cockatoo Island can be fished.
