School excursions to Cockatoo Island

How to Book

Book now for your school to visit Cockatoo Island in 2008.

Visit Cockatoo Island on a teacher-led school excursion. Programs are available for both primary and secondary groups, and are aligned with the curriculum.

Cockatoo Island lies at the junction of the Parramatta and Lane Cove Rivers, and is located between the harbourside suburbs of Balmain and Woolwich.

This former industrial site, recently opened to the public, offers students an unparalleled insight into Sydney's colonial, maritime and industrial heritage.

It features a convict-era prison, underground grain silos, two dry docks, tunnels, cranes, machinery and immense industrial workshops.

Over 150 schools have already experienced the remarkable history of Sydney Harbour's largest island.
