History

Stage 4 and 5: Site Studies

Guided by the inquiry 'How and why has the human occupation of Cockatoo Island changed over time?', this site study encompasses a range of topics, including colonial life and the impact of colonisation on the Aboriginal people of Sydney; living and working conditions of Australians over time; Australia's involvement in WWI and II; Aboriginal land rights; community action and the significance of the island as a World Heritage site.
