Red Bull X-Fighters World Series Tour - closures on Cockatoo Island, October 2012
Public access on Cockatoo Island at the completion of the Red Bull X-Fighters World Series Tour event.
The Red Bull X-Fighters freestyle motocross World Series Tour Grand Final was held on Cockatoo Island on Saturday 6 October 2012 and some of the island will be off limits to the public as the purpose-built motocross course and grandstands are removed from the island. All of the areas off-limits to the public will be enclosed with site perimeter fencing to ensure the safety of both visitors to Cockatoo Island and the Red Bull X-Fighters site workers.
From Thursday 27th September – Wednesday 17th October, there will be no public access to the Eastern Apron, Dog Leg Tunnel, Fitzroy Dock, Industrial Precinct and the former submarine building (Building 92/93).
In addition, the Cockatoo Island campground will also be closed from 2nd - 12th October.
During this period, all other areas of Cockatoo Island will remain open for the general public to enjoy at their leisure.
