New Year's Eve 2008

Crane lit up at night

New Years Eve 2008 at Cockatoo Island Camping is now fully sold out, all camping packages and site-only bookings have been sold. We apologise for any disappointment.

However why not book for the school holidays which are coming up very soon, or for Australia Day weekend? We still have camping packages and site-only bookings available for both. Find more details and book here. We look forward to seeing you soon.

We are pleased to announce the launch of a special family-friendly harbourside camping and fireworks experience on Cockatoo Island for New Year's Eve 2008.

Cockatoo Island is ideally located to enjoy the fireworks on both the Harbour Bridge (4 km away) and the western fireworks barge, which is located immediately in front of the island's eastern apron. The 'Harbour of Light' boat parade circles the island between 10 pm and 11 pm. After the fireworks just put your head down and get a good night's sleep in your tent - no crowds, no long walks, no traffic and no hassle. Enjoy a leisurely ferry ride home on New Year's Day or make it a real camping holiday and stay longer on Cockatoo Island.

Prices

$250 including GST per site (site measures 4 metres x 4 metres) for a maximum of 4 persons.

Note: the $350 camping packages have now sold out. Site-only bookings for $250 are still available.

Ferries

The above prices do not include ferry tickets - these must be purchased separately. Sydney Ferries will operate a normal timetable to Cockatoo Island on Wednesday 31 December but please note all scheduled ferries cease on Sydney Harbour on New Year's Eve. Check 131500 timetables for latest updates. Please also note that Sydney Ferries operates a public holiday ferry service on New Year's Day. We strongly advise an early arrival on New Year's Eve to enjoy your time on the island and avoid mainland parking problems and traffic later in the day including RTA traffic restrictions on foreshore roads.
Check the 131500 Transport Infoline website for up-to-date ferry timetable information.
