Children's workshop during Cockatoo Island Fstival

Cockatoo Island Festival

Children's interactive game

Cockatoo Island is a great place for events, both open-air and in the atmospheric heritage buildings.

Past events include the Cockatoo Island Festival, with bands performing in the giant Turbine Hall, cinema, art exhibitions, market stalls and camping.

More sedate but just as engaging, were readings and workshops during the Sydney Writers' Festival. Notes of music from folk to rock filled Cockatoo's atmospheric spaces during the Sydney MusicFest, a day of free music for the winter solstice. And surprising sculptures appeared in the convict precinct during a radical installation by Swiss artist Urs Fischer.

You don't even have to go home after an event, stay on the Cockatoo Island campsite and see the sun rise over Cockatoo!

We have lots more events in the pipeline, and did you know you can also stage your own event on Cockatoo? From performances and exhibitions, to conferences and celebrations. The Muster Station Café can also cater for most of these.
