Formerly Cockatoo Island’s fire station, this tastefully restored studio apartment offers panoramic views across Parramatta River from its location on the lower island.

Featuring an open plan lounge, living and kitchen area – and just seconds away from Societé Overboard and the Visitor Centre – you’ll have everything you need for the perfect getaway.

  • Monday to Thursday – $275 per night
  • Friday to Sunday $325 per night

A one night stay for two people

  • Monday to Thursday – $275 per night

Bedding arrow

The Fire Station Studio has a Queen bed for two guests. A third guest can be slept in a single rollaway bed for $50 per night. This bed can be added to your booking at the 'Optional extras' screen of our online booking platform.

Societé Overboard BBQ packs arrow

Need a convenient breakfast, lunch or dinner option for your stay at cockatoo Island? BBQ packs are available for accommodation guests to purchase from Societé Overboard, one of Cockatoo Island’s two cafes. Each pack includes all the ingredients you will need; however, you will need to bring your own cutlery and plates. Alternatively, eating utensils are included in Camper sets, available for purchase from the accommodation desk. Meal prep can be carried out by campers in the campground kitchen, which features fridges and BBQs, while our houses and apartments are fully equipped with kitchens.

Other paid extras include additional cleaning services, high chair and cot hire, and Societé Overboard BBQ packs. BBQ packs must be peordered at least 48 hours prior to arrival.

Private events arrow

Our apartments, including the Fire Station Studio, are only for the residential use of booked occupants. Functions, events, ceremonies and parties are not permitted.

Our Heritage Holiday Houses are available for bespoke functions for up to 50 people. Fees apply. For more information, view our Hire Agreement for Event Bookings

Accessibility arrow

We regret that due to its heritage nature, the Fire Station Studio is not wheelchair accessible and may be unsuitable for anyone with difficulties climbing steps. To discuss a more accessible option, please email stay@cockatooisland.gov.au.

What to bring – Food, alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages and personal items.

Check-in/check-out – Check-in is from 3pm and check-out is by 11am.

Meal options – For a care-free stay, we offer convenient meal options. The island’s family-friendly venues, Societe Overboard and Marina Café and Bar, operate daily and are licensed to serve alcohol. Guests can also preorder BBQ and breakfast packs, ahead of their stay, to prepare at their accommodation.

Getting here – The easiest way to get to Cockatoo Island is by public ferry. The F3 and F8 services operate to Cockatoo Island daily, departing from Circular Quay and Barangaroo as well as from wharves along Parramatta River. For further information, see: Visit.
