Located in the heart of Sydney Harbour, Cockatoo Island features buildings and objects that transport people to a different time. That’s because, throughout history, the island has been a meeting place for First Nations People, a convict gaol, a naval ship dockyard and a boarding school… but don’t worry, the boarding school closed a LONG time ago!
Today, the island is a place where you and your family can camp on Sydney Harbour, enjoy a picnic or tour and discover amazing landmarks like our rusty Beam Benders (maybe you’ve seen them, they kind of look like the Moai statues on Easter Island).
We’ll regularly update this page with new kids activities and project ideas to keep you engaged and happy, whether you're at home, in the backyard or stretching your legs outside.
