Booking Terms and Conditions

  1. The campground "Cockatoo Island Camping" ("CIC") and the website "www.cockatooisland.gov.au" ("the Site") are owned and operated by Sydney Harbour Federation Trust, ABN 14 178 614 905.
  2. The terms "we", "our" and "us" mean the Harbour Trust.
  3. To use the site:

a) you must be 18 years or older;
b) you must have the legal authority to enter an agreement and you agree to at all times to be bound by the terms and conditions herein;
c) you agree to make a legitimate reservation on your own behalf or for another person for whom you are legally authorised to act and for no other purposes.

  1. If you make reservations by phone, fax, email or on the Site, you may be asked by us to supply certain data applicable to your reservation, including, without limitation, credit card information and other personal data. You understand and agree that any such personally identifiable data will be treated by us in accordance with our Privacy Statement.
  2. You agree that all data that you provide in making reservations will be accurate, current, and complete.
  3. All prices are in Australian dollars and include GST (Goods and Services Tax).
  4. Online reservations must be paid in full by a valid Visa or MasterCard card at the time of booking.
  5. You acknowledge that a third party ("Card Authoriser") will process the credit card transactions required in respect of a booking. You agree that we are not liable for the default of the Card Authoriser.
  6. You agree to pay all charges incurred by you or any users of your account and credit card at the price(s), including taxes, in effect when such charges are incurred.
  7. You agree that you will not use the Site for any purpose that is unlawful or in any manner which violates any of our rights or any other relevant party or associate of ours or which is prohibited under these terms and conditions.
  8. Phone or fax reservations may be paid by:

a) money order in full payment, if received 2 days prior to check-in
b) personal cheque in full payment, if received 10 days prior to check-in
c) credit card.

  1. Booking cancellations are accepted only in accordance with the following conditions. For camping bookings: cancellations or changes can be made up to 9am, 5 days prior to arrival. For house bookings: cancellations or changes can be made up to 6 weeks prior to arrival and the deposit will be refunded less a $130 administration fee; within 6 weeks prior to arrival the deposit is non-refundable. All changes or cancellations for both camping and houses must be made in writing. To obtain a refund you must contact the Cockatoo Island Accommodation Manager.
  2. House, camping and other equipment is hired in accordance with the hiring policy and prices contained on the Cockatoo Island website.
  3. When on Cockatoo Island you agree to be bound by the conditions contained in the House Conditions and Camping Conditions published on the Cockatoo Island website.
  4. We reserve the right to:

a) modify, amend, refuse or cancel a reservation at our sole discretion
b) vary the Site without notice
c) modify our prices and conditions of use
d) refuse to provide service to you

16. By using the Site you agree to be bound by all applicable laws, rules, and regulations as well as the Harbour Trust's Copyright provisions and Disclaimer notice.

17. Without limiting the generality or effect of other provisions of these terms and conditions, you agree to indemnify, hold harmless, and defend us, and each of our officers, directors, and employees, from and against any and all claims, damages, losses, costs (including reasonable solicitors' fees), or other expenses that arise directly or indirectly out of or from your breach or alleged breach of these terms and conditions.

18. The resulting Agreement (including any of our policies referred to herein) from your reservation shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of New South Wales, Australia.
